Garnering national attention, peace activist Cindy Sheehan is now running for office against incumbent Democrat Nancy Pelosi in California’s 8th Congressional district. Cindy promised the House Speaker that if impeachment proceedings against George W. Bush did not start when Pelosi took control of the House last year, she would run against her in the next election.

Bin Laden rumored to be working on a book
Is Osama bin Laden writing a book? Rumors that he’s working on a book called “Nidal” (”Struggle”) have been circulating around the globe for several days now. These reports appear to have originated with unnamed Pakistani sources.
According to accounts from both Italian internet news site AKI and the Press Trust of India, bin Laden’s book is a defense of Al Qaeda, a “response to ‘negative propaganda and insufficient information’ ” about the group. Bin Laden is said to be writing in Arabic with the help of a younger writer of “Middle Eastern background” who will also translate the book into English. READ MORE »
Ottawa’s monopoly on pot over
Alison Myrden, who eats, drinks, and smokes 50 grams a day of medical pot, couldn’t be happier that the federal government’s marijuana monopoly has gone up in smoke.
Myrden, 44, was one of several medicinal marijuana users who yesterday watched as appeal court judges dismissed Ottawa’s bid to keep the medical pot supply chain limited to one grower per smoker.
The controversial Health Canada one-grower-per-patient regulation was struck down in January by federal court Justice Barry Strayer, who ruled the restriction was unconstitutional.
Yesterday, federal lawyers Sean Gaudet and James Goreham mounted the government’s appeal of Strayer’s ruling. Because Strayer’s ruling was under appeal, the Health Canada regulation was still in effect until yesterday’s decision.
Gaudet and Goreham argued the one-to-one policy was required to ensure against the pot from licensed growers straying illicitly into the open market.
However, the three judges, John Maxwell Evans, Karen Sharlow, and C. Michael Ryers, didn’t buy it. They dismissed the appeal after the lunch break, reducing the scheduled one-day hearing to a half-day.
And while the tight-lipped government lawyers — who declined to comment — started packing up, the pro-medicinal marijuana advocates cheered and congratulated lawyers Alan Young and Ron Marzel, who were representing 30 patients seeking the right to buy pot from a Smiths Falls grower called Carasel Harvest Supply Corp.
Yesterday’s ruling means that licensed medical pot smokers are no longer restricted to getting their weed from a grower who only provides bud to them.
Next US president has to face challenge bigger than 9/11
WASHINGTON: The American think tank has said that the next US president would have to face more difficult challenges in Pakistan and Afghanistan than 9/11.
Alexander Thaer said that an effective and extra-ordinary strategy has to be adopted for Pakistan.
On the other hand, US defence minister Robert Gates said that some allies of the United States want to end the war against terror.
Constitution Party Presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin reportedly has ‘no opinion’ on 9/11 inside job theory
Chuck has a strong opinion on every subject — the Federal Reserve, the IRS, the income tax, the bailout, the border agents, etc. However, at a campaign event in Kansas City, I asked Chuck if he believed the official government story of the 9/11 attacks or if he believed the mounting evidence that has led millions of Americans to conclude that people in the highest levels of our government carried out the attacks of 9/11.
Chuck said that he had no opinion on the subject. That is absolutely absurd. How can he have an opinion on every other topic but not one on what is one of the most important events in the history of our nation. Either Chuck is woefully uninformed or he put on a sad display of cowardice by ducking the question.
2 men arrested in alleged assassination plot aimed at Barack Obama
Reporting from Washington — Federal authorities in Tennessee announced today that they have arrested two alleged white supremacists in an alleged plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama by driving their vehicle at top speed and firing high-powered rifles at him from their car windows.
The plotters also allegedly discussed shooting 88 African Americans to death and decapitating 14 others in a killing spree across the country — choosing the numbers 88 and 14 because, officials said, “they have special significance within the White Power movement.”
Report: US choppers attack Syrian town
US commandoes have reportedly attacked a Syrian border town near Iraq, killing at least nine people and wounding 14 others.
According to the local residents, four US helicopters were involved in the attack on the town of Al-Sukkariya, eight kilometers from the Iraqi border, DPA reported on Sunday.
Eyewitnesses said two helicopters landed in the border town from which eight American commandoes disembarked. The US troops then attacked people, killing nine and wounding 14 others.
Wonkette uses “kill him” alt tags on McCain Photo
By The Founder
alt=”Kill him.” title=”Kill him.” — Literally in the source code — and displayable if you hover your mouse over the photo, as this Wonkette screenshot clearly shows. Tribble Ad Agency has the exclusive story regarding this.

Feel free to click the image twice to get it in full size…
Here is the article on Wonkette, the screenshot we took as of 3:16 PM EST … This election is getting ugly…
There is no justifiable reason for doing this. It’s fine if you don’t like the man… we don’t like politicians much either… but the solution is called voting… not death threats against a presidential candidate. (we already know of the shouting idiots at the Palin Rallies) this isn’t about that.. this is about everyone to keep a cool head for the election season.
Wonkette should be ashamed of themselves. … and to boot.. it is actually illegal to make death threats like this. We’re sure someone’s legal staff or police department will clear this up shortly.
Also, for your review – this is the pure screenshot without any cropping
Rafsanjani: US nuked Iraq in 1991
A senior Iranian cleric has urged an inquiry into a report that the US dropped a small nuclear bomb on an area near the Iraq-Iran border.
Speaking at the Friday prayers sermon, former Iranian president and currently Chairman of the Assembly of Experts, Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said, “The bomb blast killed many people and spread cancer and other diseases in the area but no news items have been published about it.”
Rafsanjani noted that the footage of the attack, which allegedly took place in a region between Iraq’s Basra and Iran’s border iUncoverTheNews.com › Create New Post — WordPressn 1991, was broadcast by an Italian television channel earlier this month.
He said that even though the report has not been officially confirmed, it was expected to receive widespread media coverage but it was censored in the media.
