Indian firms defy child labour ban

Millions of children in India work, instead of attending school.

Although the practice has been banned by the government for 24 years, it still continues in many regions.

Al Jazeera’s Prerna Suri travelled to Mirzapur, India’s carpet heartland where thousands of children have been denied a normal childhood (16 Mar 2010).
