Westboro Meets Its Match: Thousands Sign Retaliatory Petitions

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Thousands have signed two separate petitions that would classify Topeka’s Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group and strip it of its tax exempt status. The petitions were started after members of Westboro announced plans to protest a Sunday vigil in Newtown, Conn.

After Westboro Baptist Church spokesperson Shirey Phelps-Roper tweeted plans to protest the vigil, “to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgement,” the hacktivist group known as “Anonymous” threatened the church via video. In it, an automated voice says, “We will not allow you to corrupt the minds of America with your seeds of hatred. We will not allow you to inspire aggression to the social faction which you deem inferior. We will render you obsolete. We will destroy you. We are coming.”

In addition to the video, Anonymous hacked Westboro’s website and released personal information about church members including names, street addresses, phone numbers and email addresses according to CNET.

Anonymous didn’t stop there. Using its Twitter account, Anonymous asked its followers to sign a petition that would investigate the IRS tax-exempt status of the church. As stated on the White House website, the petition claims: “The Westboro Baptist Church is better-known for homophobic displays, suing people and picketing funerals than for providing Christian care to a community. Due to their harassment and politicking, their IRS tax-exempt status should be immediately investigated.”

A total of 16,062 signatures are needed before the White House will review the petition. As of noon on Monday, nearly 10,000 people had signed it.

Seven states qualify for secession response from White House

WASHINGTON – U.S. citizens from more than 40 states have filed petitions with the White House seeking to secede from the union, and by Wednesday, seven states had gathered enough signatures to qualify for a response to the largely symbolic protest.

The petitions, which have been signed by a small percentage of state residents, have virtually no chance of succeeding. The United States’ bloodiest conflict, the 1861-1865 Civil War, erupted after 11 states withdrew from the union.

The White House has set up a “We the People” page on its website that allows Americans to file petitions on issues of concern. If a petition collects 25,000 signatures, the website says, the administration will review and respond to it.

Federal Government Takes Final Step to Suspend Constitution

In what can only be considered a tragic irony, the U.S. Senate passed out of the final conference committee the controversial National Defense Authorization Act of 2012, coinciding with the 220th Anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights. Section 1031 of the National Defense Authorization Act otherwise known as the NDAA, provides broad authority for the federal government to use the military in domestic operations in order to detain Americans indefinitely and without trial. Such a move not only whitewashes the natural rights of Americans, whereby even publicly criticizing the federal government can now rise to the purposefully vague definition of a “belligerent act”, it also sits in direct violation of “Posse Comitatus” an 1878 law forbidding use of the military at home and against Americans. As Congressman Paul stated, the bill requires absolutely no supporting evidence to issue the order of detention, instead leaving it up to the whim of the Executive Branch to act as Judge, Jury, and in some cases having already decreed the power to assassinate Americans earlier in the year, executioner.

The danger behind allowing any law that includes such arbitrary terms, as “belligerent act” simply cannot be overstated as the Department of Homeland Security has already published multiple reports labeling those who support the Constitution or protest the FEDERAL RESERVE to be “domestic belligerents” and thus in the eyes of the federal government a threat to National Security.

Even more disconcerting is the level of pompous disregard elected members of Congress show as they arrogantly eradicate the foundational principles of America, trampling upon the very ideals that helped spark the first American Revolution, with Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina recently stating during debate in the Senate:

“Please know, what will come your way: Death, Detention, and prosecution. And when they say, I want my lawyer, you tell them shut-up, you don’t get a lawyer.”

National Defense Authorization Act

Further, Democratic Senator Carl Levin of Michigan, one of the bill’s primary sponsors who drafted the original version in secret along with Republican Senator John McCain, states The Obama Administration specifically requested Section 1031 of the bill be expanded to include the indefinite detention of Americans, threatening to veto the bill if it failed to encompass citizens and non-citizens alike.

However one member of Congress has openly stated that the Military should “NOT comply” if the order comes down to arrest ANY American on American soil. Here is Rep Justin Amash last night on Fox Business Andrew Napolitano’s show, FREEDOM WATCH:

According to the group “OPEN CONGRESS” an organization that tracks federal legislation, the bill receives private-sector support mainly from those involved in the receipt of military contracts, such a Honeywell. Honeywell, a company historically known by the public as a manufacturer of thermostats for heating and air conditioners, is in reality one of the largest U.S. military contractors, with revenues of over $4 billion and enthusiastically supports this draconian piece of legislation.

Thus, this bill now puts everyone whether Tea Party member, Occupy Wall Street protestor, Son or Daughter of the modern Liberty movement in the crosshairs of a federal government who sees the Constitution as an encumbrance upon their absolute and unquestionable rule.

With the bill now clearing both House and Senate conference committees as of this yesterday, the only hope at this point to halt the legislation from becoming law is for Patriotic Americans to flood the White House with telephone calls, emails, and faxes demanding this President not sign the bill into law. While Americans have been led to believe that Obama will sign the legislation there is still the chance that he may veto the law to gain approval with the American people. Whatever the reason, to preserve liberty or to gain favor. Let us hope and pray that our efforts are successful and that he does veto this bill.

Suspect hunted after bullet hits ballistic glass window at White House, Secret Service says

The Secret Service has discovered that bullets hit the exterior of the White House but one was deflected by protective ballistic glass, NBC Washington reported on Wednesday.

U.S. Park Police were looking for a man believed to be linked to reports of shots fired near the White House on Friday, but the Secret Service had not conclusively connected the incident with the bullets found on White House grounds, NBC said.

One bullet hit a window but it was stopped by ballistic glass behind the exterior glass. Authorities found another round on the outside of the White House. The bullets were discovered Tuesday.

Police said they were searching for Oscar Ramiro Ortega, 21. He is believed to be in the D.C. area and has ties to Idaho. He will be charged with “carrying a dangerous weapon,” police said.

White House says it has no evidence of extraterrestrial life

WASHINGTON — Sorry, E.T. lovers — the White House says it has no evidence that extraterrestrials exist.

The White House made the unusual declaration in response to a feature on its website that allows people to submit petitions that administration officials must respond to if enough people sign on.

 

In this case, more than 5,000 people signed a petition demanding that the White House disclose the government’s knowledge of extraterrestrial beings, and more than 12,000 signed another petition seeking formal acknowledgement of an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race.

In response, Phil Larson of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy wrote that the U.S. government has no evidence that life exists outside Earth, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted any member of the human race.

“In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public’s eye,” Larson wrote.

Eric Holder to get subpoena on failed Fast and Furious operation

Congressional investigators probing the botched anti-gunrunning operation Fast and Furious intend to send a subpoena to Attorney General Eric Holder, seeking communications from several top Justice Department officials including himself, CBS reports.

The first and only subpoena issued so far was sent to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which allegedly allowed thousands of weapons to get into the hands of suspected traffickers for Mexican drug cartels.

While the goal of Fast and Furious was to trace where the weapons ended up and take down a cartel, guns were later found at many crime scenes in Mexico and the U.S., including the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry last December.

The new subpoena will likely demand information regarding Terry’s death and ask for correspondence that Justice Department officials had with Mexico and the White House.

Earlier this month, documents showed Holder was sent briefings on the operation, directly contradicting statements he had made to Congress.

(In May, Holder had told Rep. Darrell Issa, (R-Calif.) in testimony that he “probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks”; it was later reported that Holder was addressed documents on Fast and Furious as early as nine months before that.)

Holder has repeatedly said his testimony to Congress was truthful and accurate.
